Oh sunlight, how you smile upon us once again. You were gone for so long we were wondering if you will ever come back. And here you are as bright as ever bringing everything back to life.
Yes, that is an ode to the elusive winter sun.
So with spring around the corner I have to say I have been brought back to life once again. i wish I could just skip winter or just fast forward it, this seasonal depression is really getting to me. Wearing a coat a hat and gloves and scarves and just the blistering cold and wind are too much, even for 3 months. Although I do have to admit that this winter hasn’t been as bad compared with last year. A significant amount of snow has been covering the ground for most the this dreadful, frigid season, on the up side the wind hasn’t been quite so harsh.
I love the snow and I love giant snow flakes gently making home on my coat as I walk along a small path in the park.
I love to build a snowman or have a snowball fight.
I love sledding, even though it has been close to a decade since I’ve actually been on a sled.
The ice skating, the hot chocolate, the warm crackling wood on a fire place, all great things that winter has to offer. But I have to admit if winter was to somehow magically come for about 2 weeks each year I would be lated. (Why 2 weeks you ask, I associate winter with Christmas so it would be nice it if came just around that time.)
So when the sun rises and I take the first fresh spring air deep into my lungs, my body and mind awake and I once again productively join society. The smile returns to my face there’s a twinckle in my eye and my face is radiant and I am ready for what lies ahead.
